Intake Plenum &/Or Throttle Body (3.8L & 5.0L): Removal
- Disconnect wiring connector from air by-pass valve, TPS and EGR position sensor. Disconnect throttle and transmission linkages from throttle body. Remove cable bracket with cables attached, and position bracket aside.
- Mark and disconnect all vacuum lines to throttle body and intake plenum. Disconnect PCV system from fitting at rear of intake plenum. Remove EGR valve and EGR transducer.
- On 3.8L models, remove nut retaining alternator bracket to intake plenum. Remove 2 bolts retaining alternator bracket to water pump and alternator. On all models, remove bolts holding intake plenum to lower intake manifold. Remove intake plenum and throttle body as an assembly.
