Tachometer Test
- Check tachometer fuse in fuse block. Ensure wiring connections in engine compartment and at rear of instrument cluster are secure. Using DVOM, check battery voltage to tachometer terminal of instrument cluster connector with ignition in RUN position. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Using DVOM and wiring diagrams, ensure resistance of ground circuit is one ohm or less. Ensure resistance is one ohm or less in wiring circuit to negative terminal of ignition coil, or in circuit to DIS module. Repair circuit as required. If no problem exists in wiring circuits, replace tachometer.
