Temperature Indicator
- With ignition on and engine off, indicator light should come on. If light does not come on, check bulb, then check wiring circuit from ignition switch to bulb. Start engine; indicator should go off. If light stays on, check for short circuit in wiring between temperature switch and indicator bulb.
- If indicator light stays on with engine running and coolant temperature less than 249°F (121°C), disconnect wire connector from engine-mounted temperature switch. If indicator light goes out, replace switch. If light stays on, check for short to ground in wiring circuit between temperature switch and indicator bulb. See appropriate chassis wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
