Speedometer Noise

  1. Check speedometer head for correct attachment. If connections are bad, repair or replace.
  2. With engine running, and transmission in neutral, check for noise. Ensure that noise is from speedometer. Check cable for any kinks or bends. Disconnect cable and check core for kinks, burrs or bent tips. Replace cable if damaged.
  3. Check driven gear(s). Replace gear(s) if damaged. If gears are okay, replace speedometer head.
