Injector R & I - Throttle Body Injection (TBI) Systems

  1. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE. Disconnect electrical connector from injector. Remove fuel injector retaining screw and retainer. Remove injector and lower "O" ring.
  2. To install, lubricate new "O" ring with clean engine oil (DO NOT use transmission oil). Install lower "O" ring on injector. Lubricate upper "O" ring, clean and lubricate throttle body "O" ring seat.
  3. Install injector by centering and applying steady downward pressure with a slight rotational force. Install injector retainer and retaining screw. Tighten retainer screws to 28-32 INCH lbs. (3.2-3.6 N.m). Connect electrical connector.
