Retrieving Trouble Codes

  1. Connect Super Star II Tester. See SYSTEM CHECK  . Turn tester on. Latch button down in TEST position. Turn ignition to RUN position. First code should appear on tester. Push button on tester to hold code. Place button in TEST position again. Record second code. Continue this procedure until all codes are retrieved. Super Star II Tester can store up to 7 trouble codes. See ON-BOARD SELF-TEST TROUBLE CODE INDEX  .
NOTE: Super Star II Tester will only display codes by tens (10, 20, etc.). Tester cannot store more than one code with the same first (tens) digit, except for 40s codes. To identify code, disregard last continuous beep or flash. All codes in the 20s must be serviced before any other code can be retrieved.
  2. After code has been serviced, it can be ignored. If Code 61 is retrieved with any other code, disregard code 61 and service other indicated code. If Code 61 appears with no other code, service Code 61. If no code or Code 10 appears, use ABS QUICK CHECK CHART. See Figure . For ABS test circuit locations, See Figure .
