No Power To Control Module Or On/Off Switch

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1990 Mercury Sable, 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis, 1990 Lincoln Town Car, 1990 Lincoln Continental, and 1990 Ford Taurus. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Check fuse No. 13. Check for battery voltage at Light Blue/Red wire of on/off switch.
  2. Ensure on/off switch and control module are grounded. Check for continuity of Yellow/White and Orange wires between control module and on/off switch.

  1. With switch on, check for voltage at Yellow wire of control module. Check for continuity of Brown wire between control module and alternator output control relay.
  2. With engine running, check for full charging voltage at Yellow wire and Black/Orange wire of alternator output control relay. If no voltage is present, check charging system. If voltage is present at Yellow wire, but not Black/Orange wire, replace alternator output control relay.
NOTE: There are 2 Yellow wires at alternator output control relay. Yellow wire that is connected to fusible link goes to control module.
