Retrieving Codes
- Turn ignition off. Connect Super Star II Tester (007-00041) to self-test connector, following manufacturer's instructions. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS . Turn tester power on. ":00" will appear on tester display panel.
- When ":00" appears, tester is ready to retrieve codes. If LO BAT appears, replace tester battery. Press SELF-TEST button. A colon (:) will appear. Press self-test button again to deactivate tester. When tester is ready to retrieve codes, ":00" will appear on screen.
- Latch TEST button down to TEST position. Set ignition switch to RUN position. Read and record all codes. Codes will be displayed at approximately 15-second intervals. See ON-BOARD SELF-TEST TROUBLE CODE INDEX
. Leave TEST button in latched position until all codes are retrieved and recorded.NOTE: All codes in the 20's must be serviced before any other code can be retrieved.
- After code has been serviced, it can be ignored. If Code 61 is received with any other code, disregard it. If Code 61 appears with no other code, service Code 61. If no code appears, use ABS QUICK CHECK CHART or WARNING LIGHT SYMPTOM SEQUENCE CHART. See Figure and Figure .
