Check Engine Idle Speed

Connect tachometer and check curb idle speed. Idle speed should be 600-700 RPM in Neutral (man. trans.) or Drive (auto. trans.). If idle speed is correct, go to next test. If idle speed is not as specified, adjust as necessary and go to next test.

NOTE: Engine must be at normal operating temperature of 192-212°F (89-100°C) when checking/setting dynamic timing.
