Component Disassembly & Reassembly: Differential: Reassembly

  1. Remove screws, washers, case, gauge and bearing cup. Use Drive Handle (T80T-4OOO-W) and Bearing Cup Replacer (T88C-77OOO-FH) to install selected shim(s) and bearing cup into case.
  2. Install transaxle case. Tighten retaining bolts to 27-38 ft. lbs. (36-52 N.m). Measure bearing preload. Preload should be 26-35 INCH lbs. (2.9-3.9 N.m). If preload is not within specification, repeat procedure. Remove transaxle case when proper preload specification is obtained.
