Wiper Motor Current Draw

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect linkage from motor. Disconnect wiper connector for on-vehicle testing. Connect negative lead from ammeter to battery positive post.
  2. Connect positive lead to low speed connection (White wire) and then to high speed connection (Blue/Orange wire) at connector plug. See Fig 1 . Motor current draw should not exceed 3 amps.
  3. On Bronco II and Ranger, connect positive lead to low speed connection (White wire) and then to high speed connection (Blue wire) at connector plug. See Fig 2 . Motor current draw should not exceed 3 amps.
