Tailgate Mounted Tailgate Window Switch

Testing of the tailgate-mounted window switch can be performed with the switch installed in the vehicle. Use a self-powered test lamp or an ohmmeter.

  1. With the switch in the neutral position, there should be continuity between terminals No. 1, 2 and 3. See Fig 1.
  2. With the key rotated clockwise (window up) there should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and 5 and 2 and 4. See Fig 1.
  3. With the key rotated counterclockwise (window down) there should be continuity between terminals No. 2 and 5 and 3 and 4. See Fig 1.
  4. If the switch does not test as stated, replace the switch. See DOOR TRIM PANEL (BRONCO & F-SERIES)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. (GRAPHIC).
