Removal (2.3/2.9/3.0/4.0/4.9L)

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove fuel tank cap and pressure relief valve cap. Install EFI Pressure Gauge (T80L-9974-B) at pressure relief valve to depressurize fuel system.
  2. Remove vacuum hose at fuel pressure regulator. On all models except 2.9L, Loosen or remove fuel rail-to-intake manifold bolts for access to regulator housing screws. On all models, remove screws from regulator housing. Remove pressure regulator, gasket, and "O" ring.
