Fuel Injection Pump Lever (FIPL) Sensor 7.3L Diesel
NOTE:
You should enter this Pinpoint Test only when Code 23, 53 or 63 is received during QUICK TEST. This test is intended to diagnose only the following:
- FIPL sensor
- Sensor harness circuits: VREF, FIPL and SIG RTN.
- Processor assembly.
To prevent replacement of good components, check the following non-EEC components for malfunctions.
- Check idle speed and throttle stop adjustment.
- Check for a binding throttle shaft, throttle linkage, or speed control linkage.
- Inspect the choke/high cam system (if equipped).
