Turn ignition off. Turn off headlights and parking lights during test. Place ride control switch to "AUTO." DO NOT move ride control switch during test. Connect Super Star II (007-00019, 007-00028), Star Tester (007-00017) or equivalent to test connector marked "ARC/EVO", near right front shock tower. Put tester in "HOLD" position. Turn on tester and put in "TEST" position.

NOTE: If using Super Star II tester, be sure mode switch is in EEC-IV MCU mode and NOT MECS or invalid codes will be obtained.

Start engine. Following procedure must be done within 20 seconds of starting engine. Go from "TEST" mode, to "HOLD", and back to "TEST" within 5 seconds. ARC/EVO module will run through self-test procedure and send error codes to Star tester. The "FIRM" ride green light will also flash error codes. The light will blink same codes twice, once every 9 seconds.

NOTE: Tests A2 and A3 may need to be repeated several times to ensure proper diagnosis. If ignition or ride control switch are inadvertently moved during test, proceed to QUICK TEST A4 or QUICK TEST A1.
