Ported EGR Valve

The ported EGR valve is operated by a vacuum signal from the carburetor EGR signal port which actuates the valve diaphragm. As the vacuum increases sufficiently to overcome the power spring, the valve is opened, allowing EGR flow. The amount of flow is dependent on tapered pintle or poppet position, which is a direct result of the vacuum signal.
