Steering Column: Reassembly

  1. Position upper mounting bracket on steering column. Install tilt lock bolt from left side. Ensure the lands under bolt head engage with the slot in the bracket.
  2. Install tilt lever adjusting nut. Tighten to 88-132 INCH lbs. (10-15 N.m). Position lock lever on adjusting nut with lever against the stop.
  3. Install and tighten lock lever screw to 13-19 ft. lbs. (18-26 N.m). Check that lock lever engages and disengages positively. To complete reassembly, reverse disassembly procedure.
