Engine At Normal Operating Temperature

  1. Check and follow correct starting procedure listed on vehicle visor (if available). If vehicle starts, return vehicle to owner and explain starting procedure. If vehicle does not start, go to next step.
NOTE: If ignition is left on and engine is not started within 2 minutes, the glow plug system must be reset by turning ignition off.
  2. Loosen one injector line nut 1/2 to 1 turn. Crank engine. If fuel discharges, go to ENGINE PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSIS  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If no fuel discharges, go to next step.
  3. Check shutoff solenoid terminal (located at front of injection pump) for dirt, loose connection or damage. Turn ignition on, check shutoff solenoid voltage. Voltage at terminal must be at least 9 volts. If voltage is correct, go to ENGINE PERFORMANCE DIAGNOSIS  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. If not, clean, repair, or replace terminal. After service, repeat this step.
