Speedometer/Odometer/Tachometer Module Self-Test: Self-Test

  1. Enter self-test mode. Display should show "00" (zeros). Press "TRIP RESET" button to check computer (test 1). Odometer display should show software revision level, strap option, and test number.
  2. Press "TRIP RESET" button 5 times to go through tests 2 thru 6. A tone and a "P" on display indicates that tests have passed. Press "TRIP RESET" button to enter test 7.
  3. The non-volatile memory read test (test 7) checks for errors in odometer memory. Odometer is still functional even if test does not pass. Odometer is usable only if all memory locations are bad and "Error" is displayed.
  4. Press "TRIP RESET" button 6 times to go through tests 8 thru 13. A tone and a "P" on display indicates that tests have passed. Press "TRIP RESET" button to enter test 14. Display test (test 14) shows 10 different test functions. Make sure that module displays illustrations shown.
  5. Press "TRIP RESET" button to exit test. Self-test passes if display module goes off, comes on, and then returns to a normal display.
