Pre-Measurement Procedure
Inflate tires to proper air pressure. Specifications can be found on door pillar or in glove box. Cargo compartment must by empty. Fuel tank should be full. Bounce vehicle up and down to normalize ride height.
Most Ford vehicles provided front wheel alignment specifications which allow camber and caster adjustment for a large range of ride height. Ride height is listed in alignment specifications as "Ride Hgt." Ride height measurement points are shown. See Figure , Figure and Figure .
Ford recommends inspection of side vehicle lean for certain vehicles. To determine, measure from bottom of fender lip to ground. See Figure . For F150, F250, F350 (2WD), F150 (4WD) and Bronco, a maximum of 5/8" difference is allowable for the front. A maximum of 3/4" difference is allowable for the rear. Any lean condition must be corrected prior to alignment.
