Removal & Installation: Removal
- Disconnect cable from battery negative terminal. Drain cooling system. Disconnect throttle body discharge tube from turbocharger. Loosen upper inlet hose clamp. Disconnect PCV tube from turbocharger air inlet elbow.
- Remove throttle body discharge tube and hose assembly. Remove ground wire from air inlet elbow. Disconnect coolant discharge fitting from center housing. Remove oil supply line and oxygen sensor connector at turbocharger.
- Raise vehicle. Disconnect exhaust pipe at turbocharger exhaust intake port. Disconnect oil return line. See Figure
. Disconnect water inlet tube and elbow at center housing. See Figure
. Remove lower bracket-to-block bolt.
- Lower vehicle. Remove lower front turbocharger retaining nut. Remove remaining 3 nuts while moving turbocharger off mounting studs. Remove turbocharger assembly from vehicle.
