Carburetor - HOLLEY 1949 (CANADA): Overhaul: Disassembly: Notes
CAUTION:
DO NOT
use a metal scraper to remove gasket material from mating surfaces. Use a nylon or other hard plastic scraper.
- Place carburetor on repair stand. Remove throttle body-to-main body screws and 1 lower throttle position solenoid mounting screw. Gently tap throttle body to separate it from main body.
- Rotate throttle body to disconnect accelerator pump link. Remove throttle position sensor actuating pin before inverting air horn/main body assembly. Remove throttle body gasket.
- Remove throttle position solenoid. Hold choke plate in closed position at its upper edge. Remove choke shaft lock nut and washer and remove choke pulldown lever.
- Remove choke control lever retaining screw and fast idle cam retainer. Noting the position of parts for reassembly, remove fast idle cam, anti-entrapment spring and bushing, cam link and bushing, and choke control lever.
- Remove the 8 air horn-to-body screws. Note location of choke wire clip and part number tag for reassembly.
CAUTION:
When removing air horn, tap gently upward to separate it from main body. DO NOT
pry off or rotate side-to-side to prevent damage to auxiliary main jet/pullover valve operating rod.
