Column Shift

  1. Place selector lever in "DRIVE" (Overdrive on AOD and ZF 4HP 22) position. Make sure selector lever remains against stop by hanging an 8 lbs. (3.6 kg) weight on selector lever.
  2. Loosen shift rod adjusting bolt (or nut). Push manual transmission lever downward to lowest position (2nd detent from full counterclockwise position). On ZF 4HP 22 transmission, move manual lever to 3rd position from rear of transmission.

  3. Ensure the slotted rod end has flats aligned with flats on mounting stud, if equipped. Ensure selector lever has not moved from Drive (C-3 and C-5) or Overdrive (AOD and ZF 4HP 22) position. Tighten bolt (or nut) and check operation in all selector detent positions.
