Vehicle Identification Number Code

Engine can be identified by eighth character of Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN number is stamped on a metal plate attached to top left corner of instrument panel cover and is visible through windshield.

NOTE: Throughout this article, 2.3L engines will be referred to as OHC and HSC. Overhead Cam (OHC) engines are used in rear wheel drive models. High Swirl Combustion (HSC) engines are used in front wheel drive models.
