Dynamic Response Check

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 10 other vehicles, including the 1987 Ford Ranger, 1987 Ford RV Cutaway, 1987 Ford Pickup, 1987 Ford Econoline, and 1987 Ford Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The Dynamic Response Check verifies movement of the TPS and MAP sensors during wide open throttle (WOT) as part of the ENGINE RUNNING SELF-TEST. The signal to perform WOT is a single pulse (1) when using a VOM or code 10 on STAR tester. Briefly accelerate engine to WOT for one second.
