Invalid Codes Displayed

  1. Check automatic transmission equipped models to ensure that shift lever is fully seated in "P". If not, correct and repeat Quick Test. If ok, proceed with test.
  2. Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds. Connect voltmeter positive lead to EGR vent solenoid circuit 361 and negative lead to ground. Measure voltage. If voltage is 1 volt or more, isolate short to power and repair. If voltage is less than 1 volt, repeat Quick Test. If still no codes, proceed with test.
  3. Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds. Disconnect processor and inspect both 60 pin connectors. Connect breakout box to harness and processor. Turn ignition on. Connect voltmeter positive lead to breakout box pin 1 and negative lead to pin 40 or 60. Measure voltage. If voltage is 10.5 volts or more, proceed with test. If voltage is less than 10.5 volts, repair open in harness circuit and repeat Quick Test.
  4. Turn ignition off and wait 10 seconds. Disconnect MAP sensor. Perform Engine Running Test. If any codes are present, perform MAP Sensor Test. If no codes are present, replace processor and repeat Quick Test. If problem still exists, EEC is not at fault.
