Removal And Installation: Removal

Perform the fuel pressure release procedure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to SEAT CUSHION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Partially remove the rear carpet to gain access to the fuel pump cover.

Lift the cover, unscrew the screws and remove the cover to access the fuel pipes (1).

Open the clamp and release the fuel vapor hoses (1).

Lift the cover, remove the screws and cover (1) to access the fuel pump.

Disconnect the fuel pump wire harness connector (1).
Disconnect the fuel delivery pipe quick coupling (2).
Disconnect the fuel vapor pipe quick couplings (3).

Mount the 2000002100 (EMEA) or (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) (NAFTA) tool (1a) and remove the pump assembly mounting ring set (1b).

Disconnect the quick coupling of the fuel vapor recovery pipe (1).

Remove the fuel pump assembly (1).

Remove the seal from the tank (1).
