Removal And Installation: Removal

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove the drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
Remove the turbocharger air inlet hose. Refer to HOSE, CLEAN AIR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Disconnect the generator wire harness connector (1).
Remove the protective cap (2) and remove the nut (3) for the B+ electrical connection at the generator.
Release the retaining clip (4) securing B+ cable.

Release the retaining clips (1) and position the coolant tube aside.

Remove the upper and lower bolts (1a) and remove the generator (1b).
