Removal And Installation: Removal

CAUTION:
Do not use an impact socket or a thick walled socket when removing or installing the flexplate retaining bolts, damage to the crankshaft, internal engine or the transmission may occur.
- Remove the transmission. Refer to ENGINE AND 948TE, REMOVAL
.
- Install the (special tool #10272, Tool, Flywheel Locking) (1).
- Remove and discard the bolts (2a) and remove the flexplate (2b).
- Remove the flywheel locking tool (1).
- Using a suitable tool clean all sealant from the bolt holes.
