Diagnostic Test

CHECK TRANSMISSION CONFIGURATION IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) 

1. Using a scan tool, view the configuration in the PCM.

   Does the PCM configuration indicate manual transmission as present?

   Yes 

   NOTE:

   The most likely cause of this DTC is the PCM has been replaced and flashed with the wrong software. Once the PCM configuration is set, it cannot be changed. A new PCM will be required.

   • Replace and program the PCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL .
   • Perform the AW60T VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to AW60T TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .

   No 

   • Clear TCM DTCs and retest. If the PCM configuration indicates automatic transmission as present, and the TCM resets this DTC, replace and program the TCM. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL .
   • Perform the AW60T VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to AW60T TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST .
