Engine Rpm Sensor
REMOVAL
NOTE:
If replacing the engine RPM sensor, connect the diagnosis equipment, enter in "actuators" and preform the self-learning procedure.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
- Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Disconnect the electrical connection (1) for the engine RPM sensor.
- Release the wiring from the retaining clips (2).
- Undo the screw (1a) and the nut (1b) and remove the heat shield (1c).NOTE:
Keep the sensor away from magnetic fields.
- Undo the bolt (1a) and remove the engine RPM sensor (1b).
INSTALLATION
- Place the engine RPM sensor in its housing and tighten the screw to the proper specification. Refer to FUEL INJECTION, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Refit the heat shield back in its housing and tighten the screw and nut.
- Attach the wiring to the retaining clip.
- Connect the electrical connection for the engine RPM sensor.
- Install the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery terminal.
- Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
