Body Control Module

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) duct to gain access to the Body Control Module (BCM). Refer to DUCT, INSTRUMENT PANEL, CENTER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Disengage the retainers (1a) and reposition the wire harness (1b) to gain access to BCM bracket fastener.
  6. Remove the two BCM bracket fasteners.

  7. Disconnect the wire harness connectors (1) from the BCM.

  8. Release the retaining clips (1a) and remove the BCM (1b) from the mounting bracket (1c).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Position BCM bracket to the Inner A-Pillar, install the BCM bracket fasteners and tighten securely.
  2. Position the BCM to the bracket and engage the retaining clips.
  3. Connect the wire harness connectors to the BCM.
  4. Move the wire harness retainers back to their installed position.
  5. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, INSTRUMENT PANEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, DOOR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
