Module, Power Inverter (PIM): Description

Any time the PIM is serviced, the high voltage cable eyelet bolts, the access cover and the access cover screws MUST be replaced.

The power inverter module (PIM) is the connection between the high voltage battery and the eMotor. It converts the direct current (DC) of the high voltage battery into alternating current (AC) required to power the electric motor.

The PIM is located under the OBCM. It has five high voltage cables attached to it and one low voltage connector. The component is made of aluminum and is fully insulated. Coolant is circulated through it to remove the heat that it generates.
