Module, Electronic Shifter (ESM): Description

The electronic shifter module (ESM) is the supervisory controller for the park pawl motor system. The ESM assembly includes a cast aluminum housing, stamped aluminum cover, two connectors and a circuit board assembly. The cover is attached to the housing using crimped tabs and sealed with adhesive to form the ESM assembly. The ESM is mounted by three screws to the center stack bracket located below the ePRNDL switch.

The ESM has no serviceable components. If it is found to be faulty, the module must be replaced.
