Module, Body Control (BCM): Installation

  1. Position the Body Control Module (BCM) (2) into the vehicle and connect the two electrical connectors on the back of the module.
  2. Position the BCM in the bracket (3).
    NOTE:

    It will be necessary to position the bracket downward when installing the BCM.

    CAUTION:

    Do not distort the BCM bracket in excess, when repositioning.

  3. Install, and tighten the three fasteners (1) that secure the BCM to the mounting bracket; two on the top, and one on the bottom.

  4. Connect the four electrical connectors (1) on the front side of the BCM (2).
  5. Position the fuse box cover; install the two fasteners, and tighten.

  6. Install the driver knee blocker (2). Refer to AIR BAG, KNEE BLOCKER, INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the driver side close out panel (1).
  8. Connect the 12 volt negative battery cable.
  9. Power up the high voltage system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
NOTE:

If the Body Control Module (BCM) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to restore the PROXI configuration data for the new BCM. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for Restore BCM PROXI Configuration under Miscellaneous Functions for the BCM menu item.
