Diagnostic Test

- CHECK RESISTANCE VALUE OF TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE SENSOR
- 6.445 kilohms at the transmission oil temperature of 10°C (50°F)
- 3.5 kilohms at the transmission oil temperature of 25°C (77°F)
- 0.247 kilohms at the transmission oil temperature of 110°C (230°F)
Are the measured resistance values as described?
Yes
- Go to Step 2.
No
- Replace the solenoid valve assembly.
- Go to Step 4.
- CHECK TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) WIRING
- Go to Key-OFF status.
- Disconnect connector B of the Transmission Control Module.
- Check whether the terminals of the transmission oil temperature sensor on Transmission Control Module (J and M of connector B) are disconnected, damaged or corroded.
Are terminals disconnected, damaged or corroded?
Yes
- Repair or replace the connector or the terminals.
- Go to Step 4.
No
- Go to Step 3.
- CHECK TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM) WIRING
- CHECK CORRECT OPERATION OF TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM)
- Perform the Transmission Control Module error deletion procedure.
- Start the engine.
- Heat engine and gearbox.
- Drive the vehicle with automatic transmission selector in D position and ensure that the gear is shifted from the first to the sixth.
- Check whether there is a fault.
Is the error still present?
Yes
- Replace the Transmission Control Module. Refer to MODULE, TRANSMISSION CONTROL (TCM), REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
No
- End of diagnosis.
