Removal And Installation

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

3. Disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
4. Disconnect the wire harness connector (2).
5. Remove the screw (3a) and disconnect the ground lead (3b).
6. Release the wire harness retaining clips (4a) and reposition the harness (4b) to the side.

7. Release the wire harness retaining clips (1).
8. Disconnect the wire harness from the PCM (2).
9. Remove the screw (3a) and the nut (3b) for the wire bracket (3c) and reposition the wire harness (3d) off to the side.

10. Remove the screws (1a) and remove the PCM (1c) with the PCM bracket (1b).

11. Remove the screws (1a) to remove the PCM from the PCM bracket (1b).

12. Remove the nuts (1a) and separate the PCM (1b) from the support plate (1c).

INSTALLATION 

1. Install the PCM to the support plate.
2. Install the PCM to the PCM bracket.
3. Install the PCM with bracket to the vehicle.
4. Connect the wire harness connectors to the PCM.
5. Secure all reconnected wire harness using wire harness retaining clips.
6. Connect the ground lead and tighten the screw.
7. Connect the negative battery cable.
8. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
9. Program the PCM. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
