Removal And Installation: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.NOTE:
Before removing and refitting the airbag module the following preliminary operations must be carried out.
- Refer to WARNING .
- Go to Key-OFF condition.
- Disconnect and insulate the battery terminals.
- Wait for at least 1 minute before continuing.
- Remove drivers airbag. Refer to AIR BAG, DRIVER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Disconnect the electrical harness connector.
- Remove the mounting nut securing the steering wheel.
- Using a suitable extractor (1a) on the holes at the steering wheel, remove the steering wheel (1b) from its housing releasing the centering pins (1c).
- Remove the steering wheel from the vehicle and transfer parts as necessary. Refer to SWITCH, EVIC CONTROL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
