Removal And Installation: Installation

Observe the following precaution.

NOTE:

Handle the DAB very carefully. Make sure that the battery is disconnected.

If a new DAB is installed, remove the detachable part of the adhesive label (if any) from the new DAB and place it in the special folder containing the vehicle details (model, registration date, chassis number) and the serial number of the old DAB. The folder must be kept for any checks necessary.

  1. Connect the wire harness connectors for the DAB.
  2. Insert the DAB in its housing and engage the metal stops of the DAB with the steering wheel retainers.
  3. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  4. Connect the scan tool and check that there are no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) in the system.
