Removal And Installation: Removal

NOTE:

Before removing and installing the Driver AirBag (DAB), the following preliminary operations must be carried out.

Turn the ignition off.

Turn off the instrument panel.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

Wait for at least 1 minute before continuing.

FOLLOW ALL THE RECOMMENDED SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. Refer to WARNING .

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the retaining button (1a) and disengage the front seat belt from the upper trim (1b).
  3. Remove the front seat belt upper trim (2).

  4. Remove the retaining buttons (1a) of the trim on rear panel (1b).

  5. Disconnect the retractor wire harness connector (1).

  6. Remove the front seat belt turning loop bolt (1).

  7. Remove the two seat belt retractor bolts (1a) and (1b) and disengage the seat belt with the retractor from its retainer (1c).

  8. Disconnect the seat belt tensioner wire harness connector (3).
  9. Remove the seat belt tensioner bolt (1).
  10. Remove the seat belt from the vehicle.
