Diagnostic Test
- SELECTING THE PROPER VERIFICATION TEST
- Inspect the vehicle to make sure that all components are properly installed and connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.
- Remove all test equipment.
- Perform the High Voltage Power Up procedure. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Make sure all power systems are fully charged and operational.
- Record and erase DTCs. If any DTCs are present, record any Environmental Data. Refer to the DTC INDEX - EXCEPT 500L
and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.NOTE:
Environmental Data can provide information that can assist in the diagnosis of the vehicle.
NOTE:After replacing or flashing any high voltage module, the ignition must be turned to the off position for a minimum of 1 minute.
The following verification tests are for different repairs. Select the appropriate test step for the repair that was completed.
Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) was replaced:
- Go To 2
Any other Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) related repair:
- Go To 3
- ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT (EVCU) WAS REPLACED
- With the scan tool, perform the EVCU Replacement procedure.
Continue procedure.
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, perform the EVCU Replacement procedure.
- ANY OTHER BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLE (BEV) RELATED REPAIR
- If an electronic control module was replaced, select the applicable module from the scan tool and select the miscellaneous functions. If the module has programmable features, program as necessary.
- Turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch, close doors and allow the EVCU to shut down.NOTE:
Allow up to two minutes for the EVCU to shut down. Opening the vehicle door will interrupt the shut down process.
- Using Environmental Data, operate all functions of the system that caused the original concern.
- With the scan tool, select ECU view.
- Check for DTCs in the modules.
Are DTCs present in any of the modules or is the original condition still present?
Yes
- The repair is not complete. Refer to the related diagnosis and testing article for the DTC or symptom that is still present.
No
- Repair is complete.
