Module, Electronic Shifter (ESM): Removal: Removal
WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the negative 12-volt battery cable. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Detach the electronic shifter switch bezel (1).
- Disconnect the three electrical connectors (1) below the electronic shifter switch bezel.
- Remove the floor console rear cup holder insert, and remove the rear floor console nut (1).
- Remove the two floor console vent panel screws (1), and remove the two floor console vent panels.
- Remove the two front floor console screws (1).
- Remove the front floor console cup holder insert, and remove the two front floor console nuts (1).
- Disconnect the floor console 12-volt outlet electrical connector, and remove the floor console.
- Remove the two center console screws (1), and the two center console bolts (2).
- Disconnect the two electronic shifter module (ESM) electrical connectors (1).
- Remove the ESM (2).
