Diagnostic Test

  1. SELECTING THE PROPER VERIFICATION TEST 
    1. Inspect the vehicle to make sure that all components are properly installed and connected. Reassemble and reconnect components as necessary.
    2. Remove all test equipment.
    3. Perform the High Voltage Power Up procedure. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    4. Make sure all power systems are fully charged and operational.
    5. Record and erase DTCs. If any DTCs are present, record any Environmental Data. Refer to the DTC INDEX - 500E and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
      NOTE:

      Environmental Data can provide information that can assist in the diagnosis of the vehicle.

      NOTE:

      After replacing or flashing any high voltage module, the ignition must be turned to the off position for a minimum of 1 minute.

      The following verification tests are for different repairs. Select the appropriate test step for the repair that was completed.

      Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) was replaced: 

      • Go To  2

      Any other Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) related repair: 

      • Go To  3
  2. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT (EVCU) WAS REPLACED 
    1. With the scan tool, perform the EVCU Replacement procedure.

      Continue procedure.

      • Go To  3
  3. ANY OTHER BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLE (BEV) RELATED REPAIR 
    1. If an electronic control module was replaced, select the applicable module from the scan tool and select the miscellaneous functions. If the module has programmable features, program as necessary.
    2. Turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch, close doors and allow the EVCU to shut down.
      NOTE:

      Allow up to two minutes for the EVCU to shut down. Opening the vehicle door will interrupt the shut down process.

    3. Using Environmental Data, operate all functions of the system that caused the original concern.
    4. With the scan tool, select ECU view.
    5. Check for DTCs in the modules.

      Are DTCs present in any of the modules or is the original condition still present?

      Yes 

      • The repair is not complete. Refer to the DTC INDEX - 500E for the DTC or symptom that is still present.

      No 

      • Repair is complete.
