Diagnostic Test
- AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT
- ACTIVE DTC
- Perform the SERVICE AFTER A SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT DEPLOYMENT procedure in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Perform a visual inspection of the High Voltage Battery Pack.
- With the scan tool, perform the Reset High Voltage Impact Event routine located in Misc. Functions of the Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) section of the scan tool.NOTE:
This routine will move the P167B DTC from Active to Stored in the BPCM, Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) and Power Inverter Module (PIM).
- With the scan tool, erase the Stored DTCs from the BPCM, EVCU and PIM.
- Turn the ignition off and close all doors. Wait two minutes.
- Turn the ignition on. Wait two minutes.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Did DTC P167B-00-CONTROLLED SYSTEM SHUTDOWN set in the BPCM, EVCU or PIM?
Yes
- Replace the Module that reset this DTC in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to ELECTRIC POWERTRAIN SYSTEM - 500E ).
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Test complete.
- CHECK FOR VEHICLE DAMAGE
- Inspect the vehicle for damage which may or may not have involved an air bag deployment.
Has the vehicle experienced an impact event?
Yes
- Perform a visual inspection of the High Voltage Battery Pack.
No
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
- Inspect the vehicle for damage which may or may not have involved an air bag deployment.
