Sensor, Camshaft Position: Installation: Installation
- The camshaft position (CMP) sensor O-ring (1) can be reused if not damaged.
- Apply a small amount of engine oil to the sensor O-ring (1).
- Install the camshaft (CMP) sensor (1) with mounting bolt (2). Tighten the mounting bolt to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
- Connect and lock the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1).
- Install the oil separator housing (4) to the cylinder head cover with three bolts (2) tightened to 13 N.m (115 in. lbs.).
- Connect the vent hose (3) to the oil filler neck.
- Connect the PCV hose (1) to the intake manifold.
- Install the air cleaner body (6). Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION - [EAB] .
- Install the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (45 in. lbs.).
- Install the engine cover (1).
NOTE:
The Cam/Crank Variation Relearn procedure must be performed using the scan tool anytime there has been a repair/replacement made to a powertrain system, for example: flywheel, valvetrain, camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors or components. Refer to appropriate Electrical Diagnostics article.
