SKIM Theft Alarm System

Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Go to ENGINE, MISC. Using appropriate PIN code for this vehicle, place SKIM in Secured Access mode. Select UPDATE SECRET KEY DATA. Data will be transferred from SKIM to PCM.

Inspect vehicle to ensure all engine components are connected. If any DTCs have not been diagnosed, go to DTC TEST and finish diagnosing remaining DTCs as necessary. If all DTCs have been diagnosed, return to appropriate Verification Test. If this test is being performed after a No Trouble Code (NTC) test, perform the following steps:

  1. Check if initial symptom still exists. If initial or another symptom exists, repair is not complete. Check for Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) that apply to the symptom, and also check for flash updates. Return to TEST NTC-1A , if necessary.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Using scan tool, erase any DTCs and reset all values. Road test vehicle and use all accessories which may be related to repair.
  3. Using scan tool, check for stored DTCs. If repaired DTC has reset, repair is not complete. Check for related Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) or flash updates and return to appropriate No Trouble Code (NTC) test or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) test, if necessary.
  4. If another DTC exists, return to DTC TEST and follow path specified by other DTC. If no other DTCs exist or symptom is no longer present, repair is now complete.
