Defogger Switch Test

  1. Remove defogger switch. See DEFOGGER SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Operate switch and check continuity between terminals using an ohmmeter. See Fig 1 . With switch in OFF position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1 and 3, and between terminals No. 2 and 6 (switch illumination). If continuity does not exist between specified terminals with switch in OFF position, replace switch.
  2. With switch in ON position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 1, 3 and 4, and between terminals No. 2 and 6 (switch illumination). If continuity does not exist between specified terminals with switch in ON position, replace switch.
