Inspection 8 - Speed Control Cannot Be Set, Scan Tool Test Results Normal
NOTE:
This problem may be present because of an open circuit in the battery backup circuit. The fail-safe function prevents diagnostic trouble codes from being memorized and displayed even though speed control is canceled. Possible causes are: defective connector or wiring harness or defective speed control ECM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect speed control ECM harness connector. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between ground and speed control ECM harness connector terminal No. 16 (Red/Blue wire). Battery voltage should be present. If battery voltage is not present, check Red/Blue wire, connectors and harness between speed control ECM and power source. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- If battery voltage is present, speed control ECM harness connector terminal No. 16 (Red/Blue wire) for corrosion or other damage. Repair as necessary. If speed control ECM harness connector is okay, replace speed control ECM.
