Fuel System Pressure Release

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING: Always release fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
  1. Remove rear seat cushion and cover. Disconnect connector for the fuel pump. Connector is located on top of fuel tank at passenger's side front corner of fuel tank. Connector for fuel pump is a 2-pin connector on FWD models or a 6-pin connector on AWD models.
  2. Start engine and allow engine to idle until engine stalls. Turn ignition off. Reinstall connector for fuel pump, cover and rear seat cushion. Fuel lines may now be disconnected. Cover fuel lines with shop towel before disconnecting, as some residual fuel pressure may exist.
