Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located below driver's side of instrument panel. See Figure. DLC is a 16-pin connector.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using screen prompts on scan tool, clear DTC from Engine Control Module (ECM). Remove scan tool. Repeat vehicle drive cycle to ensure repair is complete and DTC is not reset. See VEHICLE DRIVE CYCLE under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
